Today I made the biggest speech in my life thus far. I'm doing a class named the Foundations of Public Speaking, and as you can see, it's all about public speaking. Today each person had to chose an object that was significant to them and then make a 3 minute speech about it in front of the class. Sounds pretty easy at first but because something is significant and it entails emotions it got pretty rough for some people to do. I thought I would have gotten it done easily since I'm pretty good with talking to people, but in the end it was down right stress. But let's start at the beginning of the day first.

I woke up late and was totally out of it from the get go since I was extremely tired from being up all night. Still managed to leave home early and walked 8 short blocks to the train station to realise that I left the significant object home. SHIT! Had to walk all the way back and rush back to the station. In the train station now I began reading 1 of my text book and waited for the train. The train came and I got in, sat, and began to read fresh again. Low and behold 4 stops down the road I realised that I was on the wrong train. SHIIIITTT! I mistakenly caught the 5 instead of the 2. Both run on the same track for a while so I realised I was on the wrong train when the automated voice reason that the next stop is 86th st. :s The 2 doesn't go to 86th st. So I had to wait till the train reach 86th st., catch an uptown 4(express) to 149th st. where I could get a 2. Got to the 2 platform by 11:30. Class was at 12:00 so I still had time since the ride may only tae 20 minutes from that station. Low and behold again, the trash trains that you only see at night which pick up the garbage from in the station pulls up in the station; therefore delaying the trains behind it. SSSHHHIIIITTT!!!!! Trash went long eventually and the train finally comes. I made sure that i caught the 2 this time. Transferred to the uptown 1 at 96th st. and got to school at 12:30. Ran up the hill to the school and ran up to the 6th floor where class was to burst into the classrom with ppl delivering their speeches. Only had 2 seats in the class and both were at the direct front of it. SHITE NOW! To make a long story short I had to deliver my speech like 5 minutes after I reached the class so I was all huffing, puffing, sweaty, nervous and cruel all in 1.

but the speech made up for it. It was about a bracelet that I had received for my b'day more than a week in advance since I wouldn't have spent my b'day in bim but in nyc. It was a complete surprised when I received it since I had no clue what so ever that I was getting anything. By the time I was finished delivering my short speech I had most people in the class saying "aaawww" like it was a tv show or something.lol. It made me feel good about myself and the person who gave me. That gift always makes me realise that I'm being thought of at some point in time and they are good thoughts ( or so I hope). the rest of the day was quiet..........

Except for in my biology lab in the afternoon where we were talking about cross species reproduction and how animals born from species crossing or infertile. So I asked the lab tech if the Liger would be infertile and she asked what it was. So I proceeded and said that it was a cross between a lion and a tiger, and you believe the class start to laugh at me. :S:S:S:S Ppl start to reason that a lion and a tiger can't mix, and the lab tech was saying that she was unsure of that ever happening(thing is she aint even american, she from the land of the last few tigers...India). I get vex 1 time and asked them if they don't watch discovery or read the newspaper. thing is most of my class is pre med or bio or bio chem majors and the bitches thought I was talking drivel. Since I start going to school in nyc there was even a liger that was born recently at a zoo and it was big on the news. Duncy american bitches. It's ok for some ppl not to know it but for me to be the only person in a class of 22 students who knew that a lion and tiger can and have cross breeded is pitiful. Even if they didn't know, the average person would keep quiet. But not this bunch, they preferred to laugh to try and make me look stupid and ended up being the 1's looking stupid. tsk tsk.

Maybe i should change my major to biology cause i surely wouldn't want any of these future doctors to work on my ass if i were to get sick. That still got me confused and dazzled that I was laughed at because of their stupidity. Well well well, may the lord make them wiser.
